the one with all the cinnamon chex

have you tried cinnamon chex? if you haven't, you have not yet fully experienced life.
i'm serious.
yesterday i ate three bowls of cinnamon chex. and that's basically all i had. all day.
i started to think, maybe this is bad. this is becoming at addiction.
but, then i just helped myself to another bowl.
cinnamon chex tastes like churros in a cereal form. since i can no longer eat cereals with gluten, i have had to avoid cereal all together. normally i have eggs for breakfast.
but now...my only option ever is cinnamon chex.

the best thing about all chex cereals is they are all gluten free! (except wheat chex, obviously). but i have finally found my favorite food! and it makes it so much easier to find food.

little blessings

so i haven't updated in a little while, because there has been so much going on, i wanted to make myself feel good about a long and special blog post.
lds general conference was the first weekend in april. it was so fun! keaton was gone all saturday shooting a movie (i know right!), so i was all alone! during the breaks i went to ikea and watched the silence of the lambs (don't know if that's conference appropriate, but it was still way good). then, during priesthood session i had rachel (aka raquesha), sarah, and alayna over! we hung out, ate snack food and watched an episode of criminal minds. for some reason sarah convinced us to watch this very scary movie trailer for 'the conjuring' coming out soon. i still have a rough time going to sleep at night because i feel like i will hear clapping. (watch the trailer and you will understand!)
i got my ring! yayayayay! it is a dream come true. it is my princess ring and i loveee it. so glad i waited so patiently for it ;) (as if i could be patient for anything). never been happier...

this past weekend, i went to vernal with keaton to go visit his family. luckily i was able to get the day off work and we could travel out there safely to go see them. it was so great. vernal is a really special place. it is so secluded from everything else, but still has a lot of really awesome stuff. plus, they have a movie theater where you can just walk in and buy popcorn and no movie. now, i hear this a common occurrence  but i have never ever done that before i went to vernal a few years ago. (dad, if you're reading this, try to do this in san diego and see what they do to you...)
my dad, larry, turned 30 on monday april 15th, the dreaded tax day. okay, he didn't actually turn 30, but it still feels like he is that young. he also just bought a boat! way to go captain lar!
on another note, my lovely aunt susie called me yesterday and we chatted about celiacs disease. she works for the national foundation for celiac awareness. it was great to be able to talk to someone so knowledgeable  especially because we haven't chatted...really ever and i loved it! i am so blessed to have such a loving family.
update: t minus 7 days until i get to see my mom!! yay! she is coming up on april 25-30th. so stinking excited. i freak about it pretty much every day. i also send her a picture of a countdown on my phone every morning, entitled 'our reunion'. pretty romantic if i do say so myself ;)

keaton and i are doing amazing. life is going so great. being married to such a great guy is the best blessing in the world. i have never been happier. plus, he's pretty cute too. :)

ps: all my lds/other christian friends...always remember to pray for those you love, and put names in the temple! such serious blessings come from it. don't forget!

gluten-free update

so, for all of you that do not yet know this, i am on a gluten-free diet. i have felt sick for a long long time, since high school actually. well, my doctor recommended i try eliminating different foods from my diet, so i tried multiple options. finally, i went on the south beach diet to lose weight and i had never felt better during phase one of the diet! (just so you know, phase 1 cuts out all grains). the first day i went back on grains, i ate fiber one cereal for breakfast. i just about died! i realized that this must be the cause of all my pain in my stomach, bloating, headaches, and fatigue! i went on a gluten-free diet in january at the start of the new year and have never felt better. i tested positive for celiac's disease only about a week ago and my lifestyle continues to change! keaton and i have separate butter dishes, separate toasters, separate shelves in the pantry, separate peanut butter...where does it end??
i am looking for some serious advice from my fellow celiacs on some good recipes or good recipe sources. i bought cooqi flour and have read the g-free diet by elisabeth hasselbeck (which i loved). any advice is good advice! i have become pretty decent at making g-free cookies and g-free bread tastes the same to me now.
since my pain is gone, i definitely am a lot happier and i am happy to finally figure what has been going on for so long.
i am blessed to have something that is so easily fixed, with just a diet change!

happy day

today has been such a good day! not too much has happened, but i have been so relaxed. today i finished working on a project where i plan our home (for keaton and i), for class. so fun! i love my interior design classes. i have been working a lot lately and have been doing quite a few custom jobs as well. right now i am patiently awaiting my ring's arrival! i am having it custom made and i cannot wait to see it. it should get to me no later than april 10th. talk about exciting.
ps: whoever created sweats, they are my new best friend.
i realized i cannot be at home in anything but sweats or pajamas. thanks jules for rubbing off on me.
anyone else agree? my home is my comfort place. maybe that's why today has been so relaxing, because i haven't gotten out of sweats yet. but i will have to work tonight so i will have to look a little better than this later...
here are some updates on my ring, the wax molds :)

i know you can't tell right now, but it is going to be beautiful!
...can't wait...
i'll update more when my life becomes more interesting! in the mean time, enjoy this hilarious picture...

remembrance

two years ago today, i met and fell in love with my amazing husband. we went our first date to a lovely mexican restaurant, and that is what started all the madness.
i am one lucky duck to be so blessed with keaton jolley as my husband.
i know i take him for granted way too often, i just hope i am able to better let him know how much i care.
i'm wide awake just thinking about our wedding day...

keat, love you more than anything, happy anniversary!
